The Manager for Native American and Diversity Recruitment is responsible for representing Northern Arizona University to multiple constituencies, including prospective students, their families, and school/community contacts. The position, in conjunction with the Assistant Director for Diversity Recruitment, oversees the continued development and implementation of Native American and Indigenous student recruitment; maintains and further develops strong relationships with Arizona’s 22 federally recognized tribes, Bureau of Indian Education, BIE, schools in Arizona, and other native communities throughout the Western United States. The Manager leads a team of one Student Recruitment Coordinator, Sr. for Diversity Recruitment, focused on serving Native American, Native Hawaiian, and Alaska Native first year and transfer students, in line with the university’s goal to become the nation’s leading university serving Native Americans. The position is instrumental in connecting the NAU campus community with University Admissions for the purpose of carrying out initiatives related to Native American and Diversity recruitment and retention. The Manager is also responsible for admissions and office-related duties and other projects as assigned.

Manager, First Year Recruitment and Training

The University Admissions office is a dynamic environment which requires dedicated professionals to engage, excite, and enroll qualified students to the University to help meet enrollment goals. With a large recruitment staff that manages territories across 16 states, the Manager, First Year Recruitment & Training is needed to develop strong training processes for the team, and to organize and facilitate training weeks for the entire recruitment team. In addition to the role in training for the full recruitment team, the manager will supervise a smaller team of entry level Student Recruitment Coordinator, Seniors. This position will also manage recruitment territories off campus and will travel to these territories. Work in these territories will involve, but is not limited to, high school visits, college fairs, information sessions, one-on-one appointments, transfer student college fairs, and corporate/government outreach events. The person hired must demonstrate a strong commitment to the values of student service, integrity, student success, diversity, and engagement. Cross-cultural competence and experience within a multi-cultural, collegiate environment is sought.
